隨著基因測序等尖端技術的快速蓬勃發展,近年來各種生物基因體資料不斷快速增長,如何正確、快速地對這些資料進行各種統計學分析並取得結論已是生物研究領域上的重要課題,「2017台北遺傳統計研習營」將邀請在美國華盛頓大學生物統計系舉辦之「Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics」中的專家學者教授到台北進行相關課程的講授,各課程中透過講授理論方法、資料分析及結果闡釋等過程,相互交流及分享,共同促進並提升相關領域之發展。遺傳統計研習營將於7月31 (星期一) 至8月11日 (星期五) 在國立臺灣大學舉行,共開授有四門短期課程,包括 (一) 族群數量遺傳及基因體學、 (二) 數量遺傳、 (三) 關聯性基因定位: 全基因組關聯分析與定序資料、 (四) 大數據生物醫學再現性研究 ,每門課程持續兩天半。 The Taipei 2017 Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics (Taipei SISG 2017) will be held at the National Taiwan University (NTU) , Taipei, Taiwan during July 31 - August 11, 2017. The Institute consists of four two-and-a-half day workshops designed to introduce geneticists to modern methods of statistical analysis and to introduce statisticians to the statistical challenges posed by modern genetic data. Prerequisites are minimal. Most participants take two or three modules. The four modules are (1) Introduction to Population and Quantitative Genetics and Genomics, (2) Advanced Quantitative Genetics, (3) Association Mapping: GWAS and Sequence Data, (4) Reproducible Research for Biomedical Big Data. The philosophy of SISG is to be introductory and modern, with an emphasis on high-quality instruction. This activity will be an extension of the annual Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics (SISG) that has now been offered annually in the US since 1996, and outside the US since 2001.
